Rules

Curious about the rules? We’ve got answers!
Is there an age limit for participants?

Not exactly! We welcome cyclists of all ages. That said, riders under 16 will need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver. It's a family affair on two wheels!

What should I bring on the day of the Biyakathon?

Bring your bike AND helmet - helmets are required

Bring a kayak AND a life vest - life vests are required

The 5k portion can be walked, jogged, or ran!

Be aware of traffic along the route, and remember safety is the top priority! HB PD, HB Fire Dept, and Huron County Sheriffs dept do a fantastic job along the main intersections, but always do your part to complete the event as safely as possible.

Will there be support stations along the course?

Absolutely! We’ve got refreshment stations ready to keep you fueled and hydrated. If you need a pit stop, our friendly crew will be there to help you out!

What happens if it rains on the Biyakathon day?

Rain or shine, we ride! If severe, we will postpone and reschedule. Dress according to the weather, and remember that a little adventure in the rain makes for great stories. Keep an eye on our updates just in case!

Are e-bikes allowed in the Biyakathon?

E-Bikes can* be used, but MUST be declared and your result will not count towards official position overalls.

Can I ride with a group or club?

Absolutely! We encourage group rides. Just make sure everyone registers individually. Grab your biking buddies, and create memories together!

What if I need to withdraw/drop from the event?

Life happens! If you need to withdraw, please get in touch with one of the many volunteers assisting so they can notify us. PLEASE do not leave PRIOR to notifying someone with your name and bib number.
